How long will it take and what do I need to install my DoorSmoocher™?

Your first DoorSmoocher™ should take 10-15 minutes to install. You only need a drill with a phillip head bit. You can use a screw driver but doing it by hand will take longer. Everything else you need is included.

Will my DoorSmoocher™ child proof pocket and swing door lock work on standard 1 3/8" pocket and swing doors?

The Standard Vesion DoorSmoocher fits pocket and swing doors up to 1 1/2" in thickness. The pocket door frame must be at least 1 5/16" wide to accomodate the door catch.

Our Oversize Version DoorSmoocher fits pocket and swing doors up to 2" in thickness. 

Swing doors, also called bar room doors require at least a 1/4" gap between door and frame for the Door Smoocher to be installable. 

Will my DoorSmoocher™ child proof pocket door lock work on non-standard, oversized, pocket and swing doors?

Yes but you need to purchase the Oversize DoorSmoocher that fits pocket and swing doors up to  to 2" in thickness.

Will my DoorSmoocher™ work on my swing door where the gap between the door and door frame looks small?

As long as there is at least a 1/4" gap between door and frame, your DoorSmoocher™ will work.

My pocket door is not white, can I paint my DoorSmoocher™?

Absolutely. Just spray with plastic primer and plastic colored paint to match your door.

Will my DoorSmoocher™ pocket door lock work on a sliding glass door?

No. The DoorSmoocher™ pocket door latch is only designed for standard pocket and swing doors.
